Wednesday was the final deadline for filing candidacy papers for school boards and other local races in the Nov. 4 election.
In some districts, only incumbents are running, so they will automatically return for another term. Those districts include Bonsall Union, Cardiff, Carlsbad Unified, Escondido Union and Fallbrook elementary.
In other districts, at least one incumbent is not seeking re-election, but only enough candidates to fill the available seats are running, so all will automatically assume a post. Those districts include Del Mar Union, Encinitas Union, Rancho Santa Fe and Solana Beach.
